In the wheat field of life, everyone seeks their own unique stalk. M JADE draws inspiration from Socrates’ “Wheat Stalk Theory” and a promise of “certain choice” made by a couple in a long-distance relationship.
As they stood at dusk before parting, the girl asked, “If you meet someone more suitable than me, will you still come back?”
The boy replied, “I would pick the largest wheat stalk, hold it close, and walk through the entire field with my eyes shut—because I’ve already found the one that’s mine.”
He placed a jade bracelet around her wrist, from which a small wheat charm hung, swaying in the breeze.
From that day on, she never took it off.
